For two weeks straight I've missed going to church but this Sunday was a special day...Wendiana Jones made it to church service and on time! The message was entitield "Stay Focused" and I couldn't have asked for a better message at a better time. The preacher spoke a lot about purpose in life. Finding, knowing and eventually living out your purpose. It is very easy for us as people to loose sight of what is important. It is very easy to avail ourselves to unneccessary drama and headche but even in such down times one must stay focused.
I must be honest. Lately, I've been drowing in my personal worries (financial worries, finding a part-time job in media, applying for graduate school etc.) AND in the negative opinions of others (people who really don't matter). After hearing and listening to the message I quickly refocused my attention on my purpose in life...and what is that? Alright, since you asked. My purpose in life is to create and run a media company devoted to positively advancing the lives of young people within the global community.
Throughout the preacher's message he made some very valid points. He said, "Your dream will die one-hundred times before you achieve it but you must stay focused." How many of you have had a vision and have even taken the neccessary steps to manifest your vision but for one reason or another have stopped dead in your tracks? Think about it. And then ask yourself why you stopped? Why? I can almost garuntee you...it is because you hit a road block and decided to give up (the easy way out). But why? If your vision was worth thinking about, it is worth bringing it to fruition..just (say it with me) Stay Focused!
Lastly, ask yourself what kind of person are you. Are you someone who merely READS about history, OBSERVES history or do you MAKE history? Only you can answer that question.

It is almost one month into our stay and we have not finished visiting all of our family members (I know the family is beyond huge). For that reason we spent our fourth week in East Lagon (another section of Accra) with my Aunty Mary and her children. Our stay went a little something like this...iMac webcam.
In addition to these web shots we took a trip to my aunty Lena's house in Trasaco Valley (another section of Accra). Yes, Accra is HUGE! It is nice to get out of the house and enjoy the Ghanain weather. Aunty Lena has a pool but unfortunately it has been raining a lot so it really wasn't pool weather, but we watched a movie on her huge movie screen. I mean huge! Week IV was pretty chill. The family hung out at both Aunty Mary and Lena's house. My cousin Alvin took us out to a nice resturant in a hotel called MovenPick. We enjoyed a nice dinner on the outside dinning area.
The very next day we were invited to Aunty Nana's house for a nice BBQ. There we met our other cousins (Aunty Joans's children). I'm sure you are not keeping up with the names of my Aunt's let alone cousins, but you get the point.
My sisters and I have done so much traveling... seriously we have been around the block and back. For the last few weeks we have been touring the city of Accra. From Mataheko to East Lagon to Trasaco Valley, we have walked the side streets, rode in taxi's and inhaled the smokey air of Ghana, West Africa without restraint.
