K'naan joins TIFF Bell Lightbox opening

Hip-hop star K'naan will join the grand opening festivities for TIFF Bell Lightbox, the Toronto International Film Festival's new home.

The Juno-winning Somali-Canadian rapper, who had been touring the globe with his World Cup 2010 anthem Wavin' Flag, is back in his adopted hometown of Toronto and will take the stage at the Lightbox opening block party on Sunday, organizers announced Saturday morning.

UK-based unconventional American visual artist, Douglas Fishbone is currently in Ghana filming his first major role in a feature, tentatively titled ‘Elmina’. The Revele Films production is a thought provoking feature on oil, colonialism, greed, love and hatred. Although the story revolves around different families in crisis, it would focus on a man who decides to fight the system and live with the consequences.

Popular dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel, says he will be turning in himself to the police at 9 o’clock tomorrow morning. Vybz Kartel whose real name is Adijah Palmer has been included on a list of major persons of interest released by the police High Command.
 
The high command is asking Vybz Kartel to turn himself in for questioning.
